Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Permanent full-time role, 37.5 hours per week based in London (NW6)
- Wednesday to Friday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Monday and Tuesday: days off
- Clinic-based role supporting autistic children and children with additional communication needs
- Regular supervision, mentoring and multidisciplinary support provided
Job Description
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will join a specialist paediatric clinic working in London (NW6), supporting autistic children and children with speech, language, communication and sensory needs. This role is ideal for an HCPC registered clinician with at least one year's post-qualification experience who is looking to progress from Band 5 towards Band 6 within a specialist Autism service. You will deliver one-to-one assessments and therapy, manage your own paediatric caseload, produce high-quality clinical reports and work closely with families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals. The clinic provides tailored support, assessments and therapy within a welcoming environment, using a personalised, multidisciplinary approach to help children build communication, confidence, functional development and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality one-to-one Speech and Language Therapy to autistic children and children with additional communication needs.
- Complete comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments using standardised and informal assessment tools.
- Analyse assessment findings and create evidence-based therapy plans.
- Produce high-quality written reports, clinical recommendations and therapy documentation.
- Manage your own paediatric clinical caseload independently.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Supervise, support and develop Speech and Language Therapy Assistants.
- Create and maintain therapy resources to support engaging, goal-focused intervention.
- Contribute to service audits, quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, service development meetings and staff training.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK, with Skilled Worker visa sponsorship available for eligible HCPC-registered candidates.
- Current HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist is essential.
- Minimum of one year's post-qualification experience at Band 5 level.
- Experience providing one-to-one Speech and Language Therapy to autistic children and children with communication needs.
- Ability to independently complete assessments, interpret findings, manage a paediatric caseload and produce comprehensive clinical reports.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, written English, IT and report-writing skills.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team and supporting Therapy Assistants or junior staff.
