Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to step into a Service Lead role within a well-established inpatient setting based in Baldock, Hertfordshire (SG7). Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across two acute mental health wards, promoting best practice and clinical excellence
- Lead, motivate, and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care within the private hospital
- Ensure safe staffing levels and effective rota planning
- Offer hands-on clinical leadership, guidance, and mentorship
- Maintain compliance with Mental Health Act, CPA, professional, and organisational standards
- Oversee ward operations, documentation, and clinical governance processes
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective service delivery
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain clear communication with senior leadership and key stakeholders
Requirements
- Registered as a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Nurse
- Strong background in mental health services
- Proven experience leading teams of 30 staff or more
- Experience managing budgets and financial responsibilities
- Sound understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Ability to manage services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Relevant experience as a Service Lead, Services Manager, or Mental Health Manager
