Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Day shifts within nursery opening hours
- Breaks provided in accordance with policy
- Occasional overtime may be available depending on operational needs
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Room Leader to join a well-established nursery in Ealing, supporting and inspiring the babies’ room. You will lead high-quality EYFS practice, promote a nurturing and stimulating learning environment and guide a motivated team of practitioners. The nursery offers beautifully resourced rooms, strong leadership support and excellent opportunities for professional growth. This role is ideal for a caring, proactive and confident early years professional ready to take on a leadership position and positively shape early learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the babies’ room, ensuring exceptional EYFS practice and safeguarding standards
- Plan, deliver and evaluate stimulating and developmentally-appropriate activities
- Guide, mentor and support Nursery Practitioners and Early Years Educators in maintaining high-quality practice
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers through daily communication and developmental updates
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding and early years regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate observations, learning journals and assessments in line with the EYFS
- Promote a safe, inclusive and enriching environment supporting emotional security and early development
- Support room planning, team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure robust health & safety and risk assessment standards are upheld
Requirements
- Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification (e.g., Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nursery Nurse)
- Strong experience in an early years setting, ideally in a senior practitioner or room-leading role
- Excellent understanding of EYFS, safeguarding and child development
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills and a warm, positive attitude
- Passion for supporting babies’ development and leading a child-focused, collaborative team
