Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join a warm, high-quality Early Years, Nursery setting in Compton Acres, Nottingham (NG2). This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Level 3 practitioner ready to take the next step into room leadership, supporting a close-knit team to deliver inspiring, play-based learning every day. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of your room, maintaining a calm, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Support and inspire your team to deliver high-quality Early Years practice and play-based learning
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework
- Maintain accurate records, learning journeys, and documentation to a high standard
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, sharing updates and supporting good communication
- Promote safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety across the room at all times
- Support routines including mealtimes, hygiene, sleep/rest, and transitions throughout the day
- Encourage children’s independence, confidence, communication, and social development
- Work closely with senior staff to support inspections, compliance, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential
- Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or experienced Nursery Practitioner ready to step up
- Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship)
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and a passion for delivering high-quality childcare
- Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to manage routines, planning, and documentation effectively
- A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in learning and development
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and a strong safeguarding awareness
