Job Description
As a Residential Service Manager, you will lead a purpose-built residential care home in Newtown, SY16, supporting high-quality care delivery across a 40-bed service for older people. The home offers a warm, safe and homely environment with modern facilities, wheelchair access and care plans tailored to residents’ individual needs. This Residential Service Manager role would suit an experienced care home manager who has previously managed a similar size service and is confident leading teams, maintaining standards and supporting residents’ independence, comfort and wellbeing. With a Deputy Manager already in post, this is a strong opportunity to join a supportive residential care setting where leadership, quality and person-centred care are central to day-to-day practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of a 40-bed residential care home
- Ensure high standards of safe, person-centred care for older people
- Support, develop and motivate care teams to deliver consistent quality care
- Work closely with the Deputy Manager to maintain effective operational oversight
- Promote residents’ independence, dignity, comfort and wellbeing
- Maintain compliance with relevant care standards, policies and regulatory expectations
- Oversee care planning, risk management, documentation and quality monitoring
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals
- Support a warm, safe and homely environment for residents
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the residential care service
Requirements
- Sponsorship / right to work: Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship availability has not been specified
- Qualification: Relevant care management qualification or equivalent senior leadership experience within adult social care
- Experience level: Previous experience managing a similar size care service
- Specialism: Residential care management, with experience supporting older people
- Capability: Confident leading care standards, compliance, service quality and team performance
- Soft skill: Warm, professional and supportive leadership style with strong communication skills
- Independence: Able to manage operational priorities, make sound decisions and lead with accountability
