Introduction
We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Home Manager to lead a well-established nursing home in Dartford, Kent. This is a senior leadership role for a confident Care Home Manager / Nursing Home Manager who can drive quality, compliance, and occupancy while maintaining a warm, person-centred culture. If you are a proven CQC Registered Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to take full ownership of a stable service with supportive operational oversight.
The Role
As the Registered Home Manager, you will take responsibility for the overall performance of the home, ensuring outstanding care, strong governance, and full regulatory compliance. You will lead and develop multidisciplinary teams (nursing, care, hospitality, activities, and administration), embed best practice, and create an environment where residents and colleagues thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational and clinical management of the nursing home, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Maintain full compliance with CQC regulations, inspections, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Act as the Registered Manager and take accountability for quality, safeguarding, risk management, audits, and continuous improvement.
- Provide strong, visible leadership—coaching, mentoring, and developing your teams to deliver consistently high standards.
- Oversee recruitment, retention, induction, training/CPD, supervision, appraisals, and performance management.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, agency usage, and workforce planning to meet resident needs and budget requirements.
- Build excellent relationships with residents, relatives, social services, commissioners, GPs, and external professionals.
- Ensure robust care planning, accurate documentation, and high standards of medication management and clinical governance (where applicable).
- Manage budgets, resources, and KPIs, including occupancy, admissions, and resident experience.
- Champion a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion, and person-centred practice across the home.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Registered Home Manager / Care Home Manager / Nursing Home Manager within a nursing, dementia, or complex care setting.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, inspection frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or equivalent) – essential/preferred depending on your criteria.
- Confident leadership style with excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with audits, governance, safeguarding, incident management, and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to manage budgets, occupancy, staffing, and operational performance in a busy care environment.
- Clinical registration (RGN/RMN/RNLD) is desirable but not essential (if applicable to the service).

Working Hours
