Job Description
As a Registered Care Home Manager, you will lead a 62-bed nursing and dementia care home in Sheffield, S8, using your clinical leadership, operational management and people management experience to develop and sustain a high-quality service. This role requires a nurse-qualified manager with a strong background in managing large care homes, dementia care, general nursing and CQC compliance. You will actively lead and support your team to deliver excellent standards of care, ensuring residents are treated with dignity, respect and compassion within a homely, well-presented care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of a 62-bed nursing and dementia care home
- Ensure residents receive safe, dignified, person-centred and high-quality care
- Develop, support and motivate care, nursing and management teams
- Maintain strong oversight of CQC compliance, quality standards and service performance
- Build effective relationships with residents, relatives, professionals and the local community
- Promote a positive, accountable and values-led care home culture
- Use operational experience to shape, grow and improve the service
- Ensure care documentation, risk management and regulatory expectations are maintained
- Support training, development and continuous improvement across the home
- Represent the service professionally and uphold high standards of care delivery
Requirements
- Sponsorship / right to work: Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship availability has not been specified
- Qualification: Nurse qualified and Level 5 in Leadership Management
- Experience level: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Home Manager
- Specialism: Nursing home management, dementia care, general nursing and older people care
- Capability: Strong operational background with confident knowledge of CQC regulations and evidence of CQC compliance
- Soft skill: Positive, capable and confident leader with strong people management and relationship-building skills
- Independence: Able to lead a large care home, make accountable decisions and drive high standards independently
