Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday schedule
- Shifts worked within standard nursery operating hours
- No regular weekend work required
- Breaks provided during shifts
- Consistent routine with some flexibility depending on nursery needs
Job Description
As a Preschool Room Leader, you will take the lead within a well-established nursery setting, supporting children’s development through engaging, play-based learning in line with EYFS standards. This setting offers a warm, child-focused environment where creativity, curiosity, and emotional wellbeing are prioritised. Located in Sunningdale, Berkshire (SL5), the nursery provides a supportive and collaborative workplace with strong leadership and a focus on continuous development. This role would suit a confident and experienced early years professional who thrives in a leadership position and is passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily running of the preschool room
- Plan and deliver engaging EYFS-based activities and learning experiences
- Support, mentor, and guide junior team members within the room
- Ensure high standards of care, safety, and safeguarding are maintained
- Monitor and assess children’s progress, maintaining accurate records
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers
- Maintain a stimulating, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted and regulatory requirements
- Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team and management
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s emotional development
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent)
- Proven experience working within a preschool room leader role
- Strong understanding of EYFS and early years frameworks
- Ability to lead a room and deliver high-quality childcare and education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with families and colleagues
- Confident working independently and managing a team environment
