Job Description
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will play a key role within a welcoming and nurturing nursery setting in East Sheen, London SW14, supporting children through engaging early years education and childcare. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Room Leader, EYFS Room Leader, or senior Early Years Practitioner who thrives within a supportive, child-focused environment where learning, creativity, and emotional development are prioritised. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the daily running of a nursery room within the EYFS framework
- Provide high-quality childcare and learning experiences for children
- Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare standards are consistently maintained
- Supervise, guide, and support nursery practitioners within the room
- Maintain accurate observations, assessments, and developmental records
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Plan and deliver engaging age-appropriate learning activities
- Support compliance with Ofsted and nursery policies and procedures
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive nursery environment
Requirements
- No sponsorship available for this role. You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
- Previous experience working as a Room Leader, Early Years Practitioner, or senior nursery practitioner
- Strong understanding of EYFS and nursery-based childcare practice
- Ability to lead a nursery room while maintaining high-quality standards of care and learning
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently while supporting wider nursery operations
