Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday.
Based in Horsham, West Sussex, within the RH12 area.
- Working hours fall between 7:30am and 6:00pm

- The nursery operates 51 weeks per year

Job Description
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will deliver warm, nurturing and engaging childcare for children aged 6 months to 5 years within a creative Forest and Farm School nursery in Horsham. You will support a child-led EYFS curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, combining meaningful indoor learning with outdoor play, Forest School experiences and farm-based activities.
The setting encourages children to build confidence, curiosity and independence through hands-on exploration. Dedicated creative studios, known as Ateliers, give children space to develop imagination, expression and independent thinking through projects and creative learning. Working closely with colleagues and families, you will help create a safe, stimulating environment where each child's development and individual interests are supported.
This position offers a distinctive environment for an Early Years Practitioner or Early Years Educator who values safeguarding, child development, creativity and outdoor learning, while benefiting from structured mentoring, training and opportunities to progress within nurseries & early years.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children aged 6 months to 5 years with their learning, development and wellbeing
- Create a warm, stimulating, safe and inclusive nursery environment
- Plan and engage children in outdoor play, Forest School experiences and farm-based activities
- Observe and track children's development, supporting progress towards key milestones
- Contribute to an inspiring, child-led EYFS curriculum and meaningful learning experiences
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers and families
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality childcare
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and safe working practices at all times
- Encourage creativity, independence, imaginative play and curiosity
- Maintain accurate observations, communication and nursery documentation
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- A Level 3 or above Childcare qualification is required
- Previous experience within an early years, nursery or childcare setting is required
- A genuine interest in Early Years, EYFS, Forest School and outdoor learning
- Good understanding of safeguarding, child development and high-quality nursery practice
- A caring, positive and team-focused approach to working with young children and families
- Ability to work independently while contributing confidently as part of the wider nursery team
