Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full-time permanent Nursery Practitioner position
- Based in Harrow, HA2 within a Montessori and EYFS nursery setting
- Nursery opening hours are 7:30am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Nursery operates 51 weeks per year
- Closed for bank holidays and one week at Christmas
- Non-contact time provided during the nursery week for observations and framework updates
Job Description
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will support children aged 6 months to 5 years within a bright, homely Montessori nursery environment in Harrow, HA2. The nursery combines Montessori teaching with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), creating a nurturing setting where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace.
You will support children’s learning, wellbeing, confidence, and independence through engaging activities, outdoor learning, creative play, and positive daily interactions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about childcare, early years education, and child-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning, development, wellbeing, and daily care
- Deliver EYFS-based activities that encourage creativity, confidence, and independence
- Promote Montessori-inspired learning and child-led development
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating childcare environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and educational development
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to outdoor play, creative activities, and learning opportunities
- Complete observations and update children’s learning frameworks
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies
- Maintain accurate documentation and professional standards
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK required
- Relevant Early Years or Childcare qualification preferred
- Previous nursery, childcare, or early years experience beneficial
- EYFS experience required
- Montessori experience advantageous
- Warm, reliable, and caring communication style
- Able to work professionally within a nursery team while using initiative
