Working Hours & Shift Patter
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are typically worked across the nursery’s operating hours, with a rota in place and scheduled breaks during the day. No routine weekend working.
Job Description
This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate Nursery Practitioner to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing within a high-quality early years, Nursery environment based in Horsham, West Sussex (RH13). Working as part of a warm, professional team, you’ll help create inspiring, play-based experiences that build confidence, curiosity and school readiness. This Nursery Practitioner role would suit someone who is nurturing, reliable and enthusiastic, someone who thrives in a collaborative team and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality care and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and early education tailored to each child’s age and stage of development
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities that promote learning across the EYFS
- Observe, assess and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journeys and next steps
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, sharing updates and supporting home learning
- Ensure safeguarding is always prioritised, following policies and reporting procedures
- Uphold health & safety, hygiene and food safety practices, supporting daily room organisation
Requirements
- Up to date and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years
- Experience working in a nursery, preschool or early years setting
- Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship required)
- Good understanding of the EYFS and child development, with a child-centred approach
- A calm, patient and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for early years education
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, inclusion and maintaining high standards of care
- Willingness to complete further training/CPD to support continuous improvement
