Working Hours & Shift Pattern
This is a full-time, permanent role working 4 long days at 40 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled within the nursery’s operating hours and may vary to support ratio and room needs. Breaks are provided in line with working time requirements, with flexibility discussed where possible to support individual circumstances.
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and caring Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join a welcoming Early Years, Nursery setting in Compton Acres, Nottingham (NG2). Key Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning through purposeful play, stimulating activities, and age-appropriate experiences
- Build secure attachments with children by providing consistent, responsive, and nurturing care
- Observe, assess, and contribute to children’s progress in line with the EYFS framework
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to individual interests and developmental stages
- Maintain accurate records, learning journals, and required documentation to a high standard
- Promote children’s safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain strong routine, ratios, and room organisation
- Communicate professionally with parents and carers, sharing updates and supporting partnerships
- Ensure the environment is safe, inclusive, and inspiring, with resources prepared and maintained daily
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) such as NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3, or Diploma in Childcare
- Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship)
- Previous experience working in a Nursery or Early Years setting
- Good understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
- A warm, caring approach with a genuine passion for supporting young children
- Confidence supporting routines such as mealtimes, personal care, and sleep times where required
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
- Willingness to complete ongoing training and contribute to a reflective culture
- Ability to commute reliably to the Compton Acres area of Nottingham (NG2)
