Nursery Manager - Epping, Essex, CM16
Lead the launch and day-to-day operation of a new nursery and preschool in Epping as Nursery Manager. You will shape a safe, nurturing and stimulating setting for children aged three months to five years, support an expert Early Years team and ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and EYFS delivery. Employment Type

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Permanent, full-time employment, Monday to Friday.
Epping, Essex, CM16 area.
• Nursery opening hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm
• Work for 51 weeks of the year, excluding the week between Christmas and New Year
• Lead the nursery operation and support the team across the working day
• Be based at a new setting close to Epping town centre and local transport links
• Specific manager rota arrangements should be confirmed with the nursery
Job Description
As a Nursery Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of a new Epping nursery and preschool, supporting children aged three months to five years. You will oversee the team, maintain high standards of safeguarding and care, work in partnership with families and ensure effective delivery of the EYFS curriculum. Based in the CM16 area, the setting is designed to provide a home-from-home environment with enriching learning spaces, outdoor provision and a holistic approach to children’s development and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the nursery and preschool
- Provide effective leadership, guidance and support to the Early Years team
- Ensure consistently high standards of safeguarding, care and child protection
- Oversee effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
- Support planning and assessment that reflects children’s individual learning and development
- Promote safe, nurturing and stimulating experiences for children aged three months to five years
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents, carers and the wider community
- Manage nursery procedures, records, compliance and quality standards
- Support recruitment, induction, training and ongoing staff development
- Monitor the learning environment, resources, routines and outdoor provision
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- Relevant early years qualification at Level 3 or above, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Substantial experience in nursery management or senior early years leadership
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, child development and nursery compliance
- Ability to lead a team and ensure consistently high standards of care, learning and wellbeing
- Confident, approachable and effective communicator with families and colleagues
- Ability to take responsibility for the full day-to-day operation of a nursery setting
