Job Description
As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality care, learning and development experiences for children aged three months to five years in an East Sheen nursery setting. You will support children’s individual progress, contribute to engaging play-based learning and build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues. Based in the SW14 area, the nursery offers enriching indoor and outdoor spaces and follows a holistic approach guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, responsive care that supports children’s wellbeing and development
- Plan and deliver purposeful learning experiences through play and exploration
- Support both guided and child-led learning across the nursery
- Observe children’s interests, progress and development
- Use observations to contribute to planning and individual learning support
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
- Support effective key-person practice and consistent daily routines
- Encourage curiosity, creativity and exploration indoors and outdoors
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures
- Maintain accurate observations, records and learning documentation
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a relevant equivalent
- Experience working in a nursery, day nursery or other early years childcare setting
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, child development and safeguarding
- Ability to support learning through play and respond to children’s individual needs
- Warm, patient and communicative approach with children, families and colleagues
- Ability to work responsibly as part of a nursery team and contribute to daily practice
