Job Description
As a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner, you will provide caring and consistent support for children aged three months to five years in a Woodford nursery setting. You will help create positive learning experiences through play, support children’s individual development and work closely with colleagues and families. Based in the IG8 area, the role offers an opportunity to develop your early years career within an established childcare group guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, responsive care that supports children’s wellbeing and development
- Support guided and child-led learning through purposeful play
- Help plan and deliver age-appropriate activities and experiences
- Observe children’s interests, progress and development
- Contribute to learning records, observations and planning
- Support effective key-person practice and consistent daily routines
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
- Encourage children’s curiosity, communication and confidence
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures
- Contribute to an inclusive environment where every child can thrive
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Early Years, or a relevant equivalent
- Experience working with children in a nursery, day nursery or early years setting
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, child development and safeguarding
- Ability to support learning through play and respond to children’s individual needs
- Warm, patient and communicative approach with children, families and colleagues
- Ability to work responsibly as part of a nursery team and follow daily procedures
