Job Description
As a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner, you will deliver safe, attentive and nurturing childcare for babies from birth to two years within a modern, purpose-built nursery in Binfield, Bracknell. Working in the Baby Room alongside the Room Leader and experienced Level 3 Early Years practitioners, you will help each baby feel secure, settled and supported while following their individual feeding, sleeping and personal-care routines.
You will provide stimulating, age-appropriate experiences in line with the EYFS, supporting children's physical, emotional, social and communication development. The Baby Room includes separate spaces for mobile and non-mobile babies, a dedicated milk kitchen for safe bottle preparation and direct access to an enclosed baby garden.
The nursery combines the EYFS framework with curiosity-led and nature-inspired learning. Children are supported through guided experiences and self-initiated play using thoughtfully designed spaces, natural materials and open-ended resources. Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, attentive and nurturing care for babies from birth to two years
- Follow individual feeding, sleeping, changing and personal-care routines
- Help babies feel secure, settled and confident within the nursery environment
- Plan and support age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS
- Encourage children's physical, emotional, social and communication development
- Complete observations and contribute accurately to children's development records
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
- Maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and stimulating Baby Room environment
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures consistently
- Work collaboratively with the Room Leader and other practitioners while contributing to training, planning and nursery activities
Essential Requirements
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
- A full and relevant Level 2 Early Years or Childcare qualification is essential.
- Previous nursery, preschool or Early Years experience is required.
- Experience supporting babies or children under two within a Baby Room is highly relevant and desirable.
- You will need a good understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and high-quality childcare practice, with confidence supporting feeding, changing, sleeping, observations and individual routines.
- A caring, patient and dependable approach is important, together with strong communication skills when working with children, families and colleagues.
- You should be confident using your initiative, managing your responsibilities and contributing positively within a close-knit nursery team.
