We are recruiting for a hands-on Home Manager to lead a small, well-established residential care home in Maidstone. This role is ideal for an experienced Home Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up, who enjoys working closely with residents and teams in a close-knit, family-feel environment. The Role
As Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered consistently. You will be highly involved in the service, supporting staff on the floor when needed, maintaining strong standards of care, and ensuring compliance while preserving the home’s warm and welcoming culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operational management of a small residential care home, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care at all times
- Act as the Home Manager, maintaining full compliance with CQC regulations, inspections, and governance requirements
- Provide hands-on leadership to a small team, offering guidance, support, and development through supervision and coaching
- Oversee staffing levels, rotas, recruitment, induction, and retention to maintain stability within the home
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders
- Ensure care plans, documentation, and quality standards are maintained to a high level
- Manage budgets, occupancy, and resources appropriate to a smaller service
- Promote a positive, supportive culture where staff feel valued and residents feel truly at home
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Home Manager, or Deputy Manager ready to step up, within a residential care home setting
- Strong understanding of CQC standards, inspections, and quality assurance
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
- A confident but approachable leadership style, suited to a smaller, close-knit team
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
