Introduction
We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a well-established nursing home in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire. This is a senior clinical and operational role, ideal for a confident Deputy Care Home Manager / Clinical Deputy Manager with a strong background in nursing homes, elderly care, and CQC compliance. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining quality, stability, and excellent resident outcomes.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the overall management of the nursing home, ensuring high standards of care, strong governance, and day-to-day operational effectiveness. You will provide visible leadership on the floor, support staff development, and help ensure the home remains fully compliant, well-organised, and resident-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day operational and clinical management of the nursing home
- Lead by example on the floor, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care is delivered at all times
- Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
- Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing and care teams, promoting best practice and continuous improvement
- Support staffing, rotas, supervision, appraisals, and training/CPD
- Assist with audits, safeguarding, incident management, and quality improvement plans
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external partners
- Ensure accurate documentation, care planning, and medication management
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Deputy Manager / Clinical Deputy Manager within a nursing or residential care home
- Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with an active NMC PIN
- Confident leadership style with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience supporting teams in a busy, regulated care environment
- Commitment to high-quality, person-centred elderly care
Pay & Benefits:

Working Hours
