Working Hours & Shift Pattern

- Must be able to work every other weekend
- Supporting residents within a nursing, residential and dementia care environment
- Working closely with residents, relatives and the multidisciplinary team
- Mandatory training days and courses may be required on or off site
Job Description
As a Clinical Lead Nurse, you will join a well-established care home in Chard, TA20, supporting the delivery of exceptional nursing care and clinical leadership across the service. The home provides nursing, residential and dementia care within a welcoming environment focused on dignity, independence and person-centred support. You will work alongside an experienced care team, supporting residents through comprehensive assessments, care planning, medication management and ongoing clinical reviews. This role is ideal for an experienced RGN who enjoys leading by example, supporting colleagues and maintaining the highest standards of resident care. You will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and well-documented care while working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess all aspects of residents' care needs and provide health supervision and direct nursing care when required
- Complete assessments for new residents and maintain ongoing clinical reviews
- Develop, review and maintain person-centred care plans
- Administer medications in line with NMC guidelines and company procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation and clinical record keeping
- Support, supervise and mentor junior and newly appointed staff members
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the wider care team
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families and healthcare professionals
- Attend mandatory training and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide administrative and compliance support where required
Requirements
- Sponsorship / right to work: No sponsorship available for this role. You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
- Qualification: RGN with an active NMC licence
- Experience level: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar clinical leadership role
- Specialism: Nursing home care, dementia care and clinical leadership
- Capability: Confident with assessments, care planning, medication management, documentation and NMC standards
- Soft skill: Compassionate, professional and an effective communicator
- Independence: Able to supervise staff, make sound clinical decisions and lead safe care delivery
