Business Development Manager – Complex Homecare & Community Services
Introduction:
We are recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to support the growth of a leading UK provider of complex homecare and community-based care services. This is a senior, strategic role focused on developing commissioned care packages across NHS and Local Authority frameworks, working closely with senior leadership, clinical teams, and operational managers.
The role involves representing the organisation across key stakeholders including Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and Local Authority commissioning teams. You will develop a strong understanding of local and national healthcare priorities, ensuring services are well positioned to respond to evolving commissioning requirements across complex care and domiciliary care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead business development activity across complex care and domiciliary care services
• Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS and Local Authority commissioners
• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the North of England
• Manage tender submissions, bid writing, and framework applications
• Undertake prospecting and account development activity to generate new leads
• Construct and deliver sales proposals to secure new business
• Attend commissioning and stakeholder meetings
• Work closely with Registered Managers, clinicians, case managers, care coordinators, and in-house recruitment teams
• Support commercial projects alongside the Commercial Director and Senior Leadership Team
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail across bids, contracts, and supporting documentation
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Business Development or Account Management role within homecare or complex care (other sectors will not be considered)
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing commissioned client accounts
• Experience in tender writing and bid management processes
• Strong understanding of the UK healthcare system, particularly across the North of England
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare commissioning structures and processes
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
• Highly organised, commercially focused, and strategically minded
Pay & Benefits:
• £65,000 - £70,000 p/a
