Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week

- Wednesday to Friday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Monday and Tuesday are days off
- Clinic-based role supporting children, young people and families
- Involvement in supervision, MDT meetings and service development meetings
Job Description
As an Assistant Speech and Language Therapist, you will support autistic children and children with speech, language, communication and sensory needs within a welcoming paediatric clinic in Kilburn, North West London, NW6. This is a strong opportunity for someone with experience in SEND, Autism, education, psychology, ABA, therapy support or communication support who is looking to develop towards becoming an HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist.
You will work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary private healthcare and allied health team, supporting one-to-one therapy, communication programmes, assessments, therapy planning, documentation and resource creation. The clinic provides a calm, structured and child-centred setting where families can access thoughtful, personalised support for developmental, sensory and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support autistic children and children with additional communication needs on a one-to-one basis
- Deliver communication programmes designed by supervising Speech and Language Therapists
- Assist with speech, language and communication assessments
- Support assessment analysis, therapy planning and clinical documentation
- Create therapy resources, communication materials and practical support tools
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals
- Attend clinical supervision, MDT meetings and service development meetings
- Contribute to audits, quality improvement and research projects
- Support a neurodiversity-affirming, child-centred approach to therapy
- Help families and children feel listened to, supported and guided throughout their therapy journey
Requirements
- Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate; applicants must be able to work in the UK in line with right to work and visa requirements
- HCPC registration is not required, but you must be committed to developing towards becoming an HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Experience working with children with Autism, SEND or additional communication needs
- Experience or knowledge linked to Speech and Language Therapy, education, SEND, psychology, ABA, communication support or therapy assistance
- Strong spoken and written English, report-writing, literacy and IT skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supervised multidisciplinary team while taking responsibility for agreed tasks
